Where do most car accidents take place in Tennessee?

No matter how hard people try, it is easy for Knoxville residents to take certain things for granted. Even the most basic of things can be taken for granted, particularly when individuals use or come across them on such a frequent basis that makes it easy to do so.

A good example of this is a person's basic safety on the road. Individuals may become so accustomed to driving their vehicles from home to work, school, businesses and other events, that they forget that driving can be an inherently dangerous activity. Indeed, there are few things individuals do more frequently than drive their vehicle.

The dangers are certainly real, however, no matter how frequent one might safely drive his or her vehicle. Indeed, even during a very short trip that is only blocks away from a person's house, a devastating car accident can occur that leaves those involved with serious injury.

According to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, for example, half of all vehicle crashes occur within 25 miles of an individual's home. This makes sense, as a person typically drives most frequently to and from his or her home. However, it underscores the seriousness of the risk involved when other drivers fail to abide by the rules of the road.

Ultimately, the location of the crash may be a factor itself in what caused the accident. Areas that involve more traffic and higher speeds, for example, could see more accidents than less traveled roads.

However, no matter where an accident occurs, the needs of the injured person remain the same. Injured individuals often need compensation to help pay off their medical expenses, therapy, lost wages and other expenses that result from the accident. Through a personal injury lawsuit against a negligent driver, individuals can recover this compensation. While nothing can replace that which was lost in the accident, the lawsuit can be an important piece to recovery.
